The COO is responsible to spur company growth, maintain key operational procedures, create new processes and ensure day to day operational excellence according to the company quality standards. The Chief Operating Officer supervises the departments Laboratory, Bio-IT, ICT, Quality, Human Resources and Office.
The COO is responsible for identifying any compliance issues or serious risks to the Supervisory Board.
. As member of the Executive Board defining overall strategy and long-term plan to secure the financial position of company; . To drive company results from both an operational and financial perspective working closely with the Business Controller and other key executive team members; . To forge strategic partnerships and relationships with clients, vendors, and all other professional business relationships; . To supervise the departments Laboratory, Bio-IT & ICT, Quality, Human Resources and Office; . To oversee the management of overall production and administrative laboratory operation; . To foster a growth oriented, positive and encouraging environment while keeping employees and management accountable to company policies, procedures and guidelines; . To manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the supervised departments as well as coordination and communication between support and business departments; . Work closely with department managers to create, implement and roll out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, reporting systems and company policies all designed to foster growth, profitably and efficiencies within the company; . To set challenging and realistic goals for growth, performance and profitability; . Responsible for the planning, budget and costs of the several departments; . To provide accurate and timely reports outlining the operational condition of the company; . Any other activities in line with this description.
Requirements: ∙ University Degree in Molecular or Cell Biology combined with an MBA ∙ Experience with Next Generation Sequencing is preferred ∙ Strategic Business Development experience in a fast-paced environment ∙ Proven experience in a General or BU management role incl. P&L responsibility ∙ Proven track record of driving consistent growth and hitting targets ∙ Experienced in working with Quality Systems; experience with ISO 17025/15189, GLP, GLCP is a plus ∙ Excellent leadership and organizational skills ∙ Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English both in word and writing
